Daughter of Ukraine

Dochka Ukrayiny-to honor the Ukrainian people

$1200.00

When a people is invaded by an oppressor and pummeled for 4 years and counting, this artist steps up and honors the oppressed culture.

A very limited edition of 10 woodcut prints handprinted on Japanese Okawara paper. I created this edition as an act of honor and respect. I also did a good bit of research into the traditional folk garments of the culture. You can see these references in the photos as you scroll through the images. The blue lines with cursive pencil names depict the towns and villages that have suffered bombing and destruction as well as loss of life.

As the war rages on, I am sure there are more names to add to the list.

Size is 30hx24:w. shipped unframed in a shipping tube for free within the continental US. A portion of each sale goes to Ukrainian relief organizations. As if this posting, there are 8 remaining in the edition.

Thank you.
